Our mission is to provide the continuing world class level of fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical services, as well as fire prevention and education activities, that has been the hallmark of this volunteer organization since 1916, in a way that utilizes the training, experience and expertise of the company members. So that the residents and visitors of Gloucester Township Fire District 5 & 6, and all those surrounding emergency and police agencies assistance, receive the ongoing, quality life and property protection services that they are entitled and accustomed to.


B Platoon All Hands
August 11, 2010 - At approximately 1530 companies were alerted to 2200 Garwood Road for investigate smoke. While responding County Communications advised units that police were on scene with heavy fire showing. 8503 requested the all hands, arrived and confirmed the same. Quint 85 was the first arriving unit and deployed a line. While crews attempted to open up to make access, partial collapse occurred. All companies went into defensive operations. Companies operated for about an hour before the township bulldozer arrived and demolished the property.

C Platoon First Arriving at Winslow House Fire
June 07, 2010 - Just after Platoon C had cleaned up from dinner, units were alerted to 5 Maureen Court in Winslow Twp. for the house fire with people reported trapped. EMS Assistant Chief 25502 arrived on scene and reported a 2 story end of the row with fire showing. Quint 85 arrived and stretched a line to the Charlie side. The Quint's crew were met with heavy fire, but pushed in and made an aggressive interior attack. Engine 86 was second arriving and pulled an additional attack line and met up with the Quint's crew on the first floor. With the fire on the first floor knocked down and the protection of Engine 86's line, the Quint's crew was just about to do a search of the second floor, when command ordered an evacuation due to water supply issues. With the second alarm being sounded and police confirming all occupants were accounted for, units switched to defensive operations. The Quint's crew quickly took their line into the exposure to check for extension with crews from Winslow. The tower ladder from 253 opened up and crews continued with their exterior attack. The fire was brought under control and is being investigated by county fire marshals. The Quint and Engine cleared just after midnight.

B Platoon Door Pop
May 27, 2010 - While finishing up inspections companies were alerted to 601 College Dr for a MVA with an occupant trapped. The quint arrived minutes later and quickly removed the occupant with assistance from Squad 62.


EARLY EVENING STRUCTURE FIRE
May 08, 2010 - Task Force 852 was dispatched to the area of 9 Pleasantview Dr. in the Erial section for a structure fire. County Communications was receiving multiple calls of multiple sheds and a fence on fire, endangering other property. Seeing smoke in the area, E86 laid out from the nearest hydrant and arrived confirming reports of multiple sheds and a fence on fire, with exposure issues to other structures. Crew from E86 stretched an 1 ¾ hand line while the second due company and first due truck, Ladder 62, opened up for the engine company. SD62 arrived and secured E86's water supply, while QT85's crew assisted personnel with the second hand line. 8401 had command. E842 went to the division C residence to check access from that yard. Crews from 85, 86, and 62 quickly knocked down the fire, as command scaled the assignment back to E86, L62, QT85, and SD62.


B PLATOON RUNS TWO BOXES IN THREE HOURS
April 20, 2010 - While the men were starting to prepare for the move into the new bunkroom, Task Force 853 was dispatched to 61 Hazeltop Drive for a dwelling. Upon investigation a stove fire with extension to the kitchen cabinets was found, and was extinguished. Companies opened up and assisted FMs with investigation prior to going in service. Just three hours later, while responding for a highway hazard, Squad 25 notified county of a visible column of smoke coming from Erial Rd. Upon investigation a mobile home fire was located at 501 Erial Rd. Squad 85 arrived second due and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul of the structure.
